Being a successful leader starts with you – your mindset. The way you think, drives your actions, and your actions drive results. Your mindset is the foundation for your leadership. Understanding and evolving your mindset throughout your leadership journey supports a successful transition through each level of leadership.
Larry’s experience is unparalleled - as the Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Materiel Command (the second highest ranked logistician and supply chain leader in the Army), he presided over the day-to-day operations, employing a workforce of over 120,000 soldiers, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians and contractors, with a presence or economic impact in all 50 states and 152 countries.
First, you must want to be a leader. Being a leader expands responsibilities to your organization and to your people. It also adds risks and challenges. If you are motivated to lead you can inspire and motivate others for success. Being a leader also means caring about those you lead and the organization you support.
Know yourself. Introspection, assessments and feedback from leaders, peers and subordinates help us understand ourselves. What are my values and beliefs? What do I know and what do I need to know? What are my strengths, weaknesses, and personal attributes? What pitfalls or derailers threaten my success? Where am I on my journey and how proficient am I at my current level? What do I need to learn to perform successfully at the next level?
Does your audio match your video? Do you set the example as a leader? Do your actions match your values, beliefs and words? If not, you may come across as fake or inauthentic and your ability to lead suffers.
Inspire trust. People must believe in you. Being trustworthy and making people feel part of a team can help motivate and inspire them. Getting each team member to contribute to the team, bringing their own perspectives and talents to make the whole perform better than the sum of its parts.
Deliver results – Do you have the discipline to analyze, plan, prepare, organize and execute to achieve success. Discipline requires focus and the commitment over time to achieve excellence.

HOW DOES THIS MASTERCLASS WORK?
Concept: The full-day session is an introduction to the Leadership Framework. Mindset and Mastery are the key elements supporting each person's leadership journey. Prior to the full-day session, each person completes the Leader Self-Assessment.
The session focuses on the key elements of the Leader’s Mindset and Mastery of core Leader Competencies. Each person receives a workbook containing the tools and information to continue their personal leadership development journey.
Learning Objective: Given the Leader Self-Assessment, the Leader Development Workbook and an introduction to the Wyche Leadership Framework, attendees will be able to understand where they are on their leadership journey, identify next steps for development and understand how to use specific tools for developing their leadership skills.
